The weather was hot and the greens were fast!
Glacier Technology’s 15th annual Golf outing was held this week, and the weather was hot, hot, hot! Huge kudos to Scott’s mom who might have overdone it on the prayers for good weather.
The world famous Shamrock Golf Course did a great job again of hosting our event with an ever ready beer cart and all the carts arranged for us to start our shotgun tournament. This year, six-time champion Chris Hanson again regained his honors. Chris led the team of Jan Stecker, Kalen Schwartz and Dale Mullens. Following his 7th tournament win, Chris has started a new investment account with all his winnings.
Dale Mullens, Nikki’s Clausen’s boyfriend and first time player, now has his name on the board with Scott “Ice” Clausen, who has yet to put up a winning score. The winning score was -2 so the teams were fairly well matched.
Karma played a huge role for Ice Clausen as he had a solid round. He amazingly drew his daughter Nikki (who played under protest having never swung a club) as well as one of his most cherished friends, Mark Burdeshaw. A friend of Scott’s since 8th grade, Mark flew in from New Mexico just to participate in the Glacier Golf Outing. Like Dale and Nikki, Mark was also new to the game of golf.
The feast was even more amazing than Chris Hanson’s victory streak! Lee Kalivoda served up brisket, chicken, ribs and homemade baked beans. The effort Lee put in was so appreciated by everyone that not a morsel of meat was left during cleanup.
Another Glacier tournament in the books and everyone went away full of great food and lasting smiles.
